I hope everyone had a good week. I had to do some traveling this week, and I have grown to hate traveling.

This page was a scene that really stuck in my head when I was trying to develop the story. Dheryc is basically a zombie, but with his consciousness intact, and any further bodily decay halted by his sister's magic. When he was attacked last issue by the assassin, he didn't feel any of the brutal attacks though they did damage him. However, he can feel Syn, and I think it is a very important piece of character development moving forward.

Anyway I hope you guys enjoy, and as always I welcome your comments.

I have better theory. Necromany spells of of not feeling did not contain and hightech

Grey Garou
I must confess, a rather interesting little tangent between Zombie and Syn. Perhaps it has something to do with her existence as an artificial being, not completely alive or dead.

My thought on the matter is that the fact he can't feel himself is for his protection.

You know you are dead, but do you feel it? Every cell in your body screaming it's end at every second of your revival? There could be any number of insidious sensations that it is protecting him from.

As to why he feels her especially, it is probably thermodynamics again. Since he is not powered chemically by food anymore, the spells keeping him going are probably very energy sensitive. He is either feeling a power supply or the interaction of a high power source on his magical systems.

I always enjoy reading the comments and theories that you guys post. I will admit there have been times when I thought a posted theory was better than my own and was very tempted to change the story. I honestly cant confirm anything on this without giving too much away.

I have a question about Dheryc not being able to feel emotions. Emotions are an important part of the decision-making process, particularly when deciding between two objectives that are perceived to be of equal value. (People with brain damage that keeps them feeling emotion have been observed to be vulnerable to the Buridan's Ass paradox.) Does Dheryc suffer from those drawbacks, or is his lack of emotional perception psychosomatic?

Well I will admit I had to google a Bruidan's Ass Paraxox. And I have been trying to deal with those sorts of things. Frankly I see a sort of parallel between him and Syn she cannot trust her programming and so is not sure if she can trust her emotional responses...and Dheryc who just doesn't feel emotions. They are both in a struggle to relearn how to be who they are.

For Dheryc right now he is on autopilot and basically follows his sister's lead. If he was left on his own he would just sit in a corner someplace and do nothing, but maybe just by past habit or a deep seeded instinct he has decided to follow his sister around. I guess my best answer for Dheryc right now is that he is faking it in an attempt to seem as normal as he can.

Hope that helps. Thanks for asking, it was fun figuring out the answer.

Perhaps it is a byproduct Syn's former career as a pleasure droid.
