So it has been stated that you want to see more of Syn and more character development from her. Well now you get it. For awhile now Syn has been trying to rewrite herself, not trusting her original programming which demanded her to be subservient to an owner. Now in the face of impossible odds provided by an epic battle that is only going to get more epicer (I know, not a real word), her self preservation programming is trying to force her to leave her friends behind and find safety.
In truth this issue and the next are going to bring serious changes for everyone in our little party.

Syn dear, your tactical module is kinda stupid. You need to speak stupid to it. You need to set mission success parameters to "friends alive & unharmed" and "enemies ground to paste". You know, work with it. ;p

Intresting trying to rewrite code wile swinging a sward. How can she change her basic programs without rebooting? Can she reboot on her own?

If the code she's re-writing is not part of her OS kernel, just recompile and execute, no reboot is required.

Now, if she's writing kernel code, re-compile, install, and then reboot.

Well, if her systems are discrete applications working together then it is easy enough to write to disk a newly compiled version of the program and the next new invocation (not a fork) will use the latest version.

Okay so I took like one intro to Java class. And it was online. And I didn't do so well (I did pass though). I think I learned just enough to sort of pretend for the sake of Syn's inner dialogue. I do intend to get into Java and see how much I can figure out for myself, but at this point this conversation kinda lost me haha.
So far Syn has been rewriting most parts of her programming that deal with emotions, like “I get mad when my friends are threatened, and “I enjoy killing bad guys”. But this is the first time Syn has been in a really bad zero chance of survival situation, and her basic programming, the part that would be instinct for us is telling her to get the hell out of there. She wont leave and is trying to cancel those commands before they take over and force her. I guess that would be equal to cowardice.
So her basic programming see's her decision to stay as a logic error and is trying to reboot to correct the error, and clear the conflicting programming she is trying to input. Those of you more programming literate might be able to tell me how to explain that better in the dialogue. But that was my intent. It was a rather difficult page to write.

It's good to see more of Syn and her story and development get more fleshed out. I wasn't trying to tell you that you were wrong in your overall handling of the story. I was more stating a preference, that's all.

No, when I thought about it I realized you were right. If I had let ever scene play out I would have lost the frantic pacing that I want this issue to have. There is a lot going on and all of it is happening fast so I realized breaking it up is better. I don't take any offense to you guys giving suggestions and input. I like them, they make me consider things that I wouldn't have noticed. Please continue to do so.
